Over Eating and Acupuncture

without comments

Acupuncture Bellmore is a proven and effective program for losing weight.  Being a natural, safe, effective and holistic type of treatment, more people each day are preferring this treatment over the numerous diet pills that harbor harmful chemicals and cause serious side effects.  Religiously sticking to an exercise and diet plan is really quite difficult to do and thus many of these programs fail, which is the reason why people are looking for less stressful ways to lose weight.

Acupuncture has been around for thousands of years offering a wide range of health benefits for the Chinese people.  It has treated ailments and addictions, diseases and severe emotions for millennia and is still a popular choice not only for many Chinese but for the a growing number of people around the world as well.  Because of the popularity of fast foods and the very stressful way of living of most Americans, the number of obese people in the United States is the largest in the world.  Overeating is one of the ways people in the USA compensate for their stressful lives.

Worse, being overweight can add more stress, frustration and anxiety into one’s life.  Many studies concluded that people who over eat have more stressful lives and the less stress in life people have, the less susceptible they are to over eat.

Acupuncture is a treatment where fine needles are inserted into specific sites in the body to stimulate points to enable therapeutic effects.  As the needles are inserted during acupuncture treatment, they may give out a slight tingling feeling; however, with other patients, no sensation is felt at all.

The ear is used as the area for treatment of obesity.  It has acupuncture points that connect to organs associated to the digestive, nervous and endocrine systems.  Points on the ear are treated with needles to curb desires for food.  The needles then act in stimulating the production and secretion of endorphins and enkephalins to help the patient relax and enable him/her to control his/her food cravings. A bead or a magnet is placed by the acupuncturist at the patient’s ear after treatment, so that whenever the desire to eat becomes strong, the patient only needs to tap that bead or ball to neutralize his/her cravings.  This effect may last until the start of the next treatment.

Acupuncture really causes the body to come to its own defense in dealing with health disorders such as over eating and obesity.  What’s more, besides helping the body lose weight in a natural and safe manner, acupuncture also reinvigorates the body by improving circulation to the undernourished parts of the body.  Ear acupuncture has been practiced by the Ancient Chinese as an effective way of losing weight and of treating addictions for thousands of years.
