An acupuncture treatment can help boost melatonin levels in the body which is one reason why this treatment is a powerful way to induce sleep.

One other study demonstrated acupuncture’s ability to cure insomnia in people who were otherwise healthy but were suffering from insomnia. When it come to average sleep duration, however, no difference was found between the drugs and acupuncture.

When used along with herbs, it was demonstrated that acupuncture was significantly better than herbs alone in boosting sleep rates.

It was also determined that when combined with sleeping drugs, acupuncture was found to be more effective than drugs for total sleep duration.
